Assalamualaykum wr wbt,

Say, [O Muhammad], “Praise be to Allah , and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate with Him?”

[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but most of them do not know.

Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember.

Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah ? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

[Al Quran, Surah Al Naml : 59-63]

Keep Running

Hamzah continued sprinting. His legs, knees especially have been shaking since 10 minutes ago, but he felt that it was still early to give up. He ran, winds run pass his cheeks and body, and the sounds of the colliding waves accompanied his thumping heart. He ran as his legs became lighter as seconds passed. He looked behind him, no one to be found. He ran passed the ice cream shop, and then paused, panting away. An old Indian couple passed him, watching as he was perspiring profusely. He pushed the glass doors and felt a breeze of AC so cool on his sweating face. He smiled looking at the array of flavours in front of him. With a quick glimpse of the clock on the wall, he was utmost confident. He is in the lead. Casually, he chose pistachio ice cream, sat and at the whole ice cream, eyes running through the glass doors, in case anyone he knows passed by. No one. After 3 minutes of that own-self created pit stop, he jogged slowly, now with much more energy, and he kept running.

For an hour he ran, he noticed the pit stop nearing. He sprinted, bismillah he whispered and as he came near, Mus’ab was sitting reciting from his mushaf. He smiled at Hamzah who was shocked seeing him. He laughed seeing Hamzah’s expressions.

“Akhi! You here already?” Hamzah’s eyes widened as possible. It was the most unbelievable moment in his life. Mus’ab nodded as he laughed continuously. He pointed to his shoes , as if they were new or something.

“The Zigtech yea? No way man!” Mus’ab laughed, he is in tears now already. Facing the most competitive man on earth now, also known as his closest companion he just could not bear the sight of Hamzah losing for the very first time.

Mus’ab pointed at his left chest then pointed on Hamzah’s chest. Hamzah was startled.

“Zigtech? This beats it. This thing here beats what’s on your soles. The soul beats your sole.” Mus’ab smiled and sat down, followed by Hamzah who was still astonished with the results, he was still unable to accept it. He was a much more better runner than Mus’ab, everyone knew it, he won colleges marathons and he practise daily. Whilst this tiny companion of his, Mus’ab rarely hit the gyms nor tracks. The only running he does is in colleges and home and once in a while the shops.

“Ya Akhi! I’m still deadly curious. How? No shortcuts or whatsoever right?” Hamzah was still unsatisfied.

“Ya Habiby! Me still not trustworthy of it no?”

“I’m messing hahah! Just, how in this dunya were you able to win this! I targeted time, I left you in the first part, second and third, and I’m definitely confident, I didn’t see you in front of me!”

Mus’ab smiled.

“Did you stay focused throughout the journey? No rest at all, and did you not miss anything at all? Or maybe some pistachios should able to remind you?” Mus’ab smiled wider, as Hamzah’s frowns grow bigger.

Pistachios. Of tiny rests and big losses. Allahuakbar. I lost. Hamzah dived into a sea of silence.

The Competition of this Dunya

Ever felt like you are sooo close to winning, then suddenly *BAM!* something happens and before you knew it you’re actually losing, or more of lost. And they say because of a tiny mistake, a really tiny mistake it could cause a huge effect in our lives. If not know, then in the future, and even Mr Regret is of no point at that moment in time. Dunya, indeed competitions occur consistently. Be it from the moment we are born to compete to grow, in school competing to strive the best positions, in colleges and then the arena of work, then when getting old and people competiting to gain the most wealth they could, to travel the most numbers of countries, to get the best of families. Dec-l-u-t-t-e-r slowly ya akhwat ikhwan fillah. Why in the first place are we striving to compete in this for? Where is the end point of these, and to where does all the competitions bring us to?

If our hearts are sadden for the fact that we lose out in competitions in dunya (which I do a lot! hahs!) then, shouldn’t the hearts be more utterly saddened if we lose out in competitions in akheerah? Compete in striving the biggest sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w – doing da’wah, spreading the haq, and destroying the falsehood, how ghirah (enthusiastic) are we in competing one another for this? Compete in giving charity to those in need and those requesting it- how ghirah are we in these? Competing in improving ourselves in the eyes of Allah azza wa jall, so we’re able to fulfil our amanahs (responsibilities) to the best we can- how how ghirah are we? A question, I ask myself and foremost biidhnillah.
Are you ready?
Keep running ya akhwat ikhwan fillah, for if you take long rests, you’ll have tendency to neglect your amanahs to Allah azza wa jalla. It’s normal, it’s fitrah for us to get tired, to get upset to get grumpy, but being in these for way too long, it will be of the Shaytaans (devils) happiness and a quicksand of drowning eeman. So, always refresh and rethink, the main purpose you’re living in this dunya, and compete the best way possible, strive so so so hard in attaining Allah’s Love wa Mercy. Because even if the whole world are pleased with you but Allah’s Not, that’s the biggest lost every that a believer can have. And for those who are patient in being steadfast, Allah azza wa jalla Promises us some of the extraordinary starpoints one can ever imagine.

this would be the most honored honor. amin

Allah azza wa jalla Promises us –

Angels continuously descending upon us in this dunya,

Non fearsome

Non sadness

Glad tidings of Paradise – best of rests!

Allah awj & Angels being companions and allies in dunya & hereafter

Whatever the souls desire, yes whatever, and whatever the souls request

Honour and forgiveness.

Allahuakbar. And these were the main motivation of the companions r.a. who fought endlessly with themselves, with enemies in attaining what Allah awj Promised. Even though far apart from the Prophet s.a.w and companions, being sent to another country to deliver the haq, the power of the motivation and tarbiyah dzatiyyah preceeds all difficulties. Another must-dive-in story of Mus’ab ibn Umayr and Asma ibn Abu Bakr- one outstanding gem of ummahatul mu’minin. SubhanAllah, indeed these stories humbles the heart more than other ordinary tales. And these are real life-time stories which we can pick up diamonds and sparkles from insh’Allah.

Thus these promises, was it mentioned by Allah azza wa jalla? Yes it is subhanAllah.

In Surah Al Fusshilat, ayah 30-32, Allah Mentions :

Indeed, those who have said, “Our Lord is Allah ” and then remained on a right course – the angels will descend upon them, [saying], “Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.

We were your allies in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request

As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful.”

[Al Quran, Surah Al Fusshilat : 30-32]
